Jande Labs is a personal software workbench dedicated to exploring new tech by building useful things.
Every project here serves a dual purpose: a lightweight experiment to play with new tech concepts, and a fully functional tool built for actual use.
Take a look at what's running in the lab.

View Project →A fully functional chess clock, best used on a phone beside the board.
Experiment: with the help of AI, can I build and deploy something useful in about an hour while laying on my couch using only my phone? (Yes, I can.)
View Project →A chess database for you to store and analyze games.
An experiment in local-first architecture: using client-side storage to deliver a full-featured, offline-capable chess app without server databases or account logins.
View Project →A full-featured metronome for use during music practice or performance. Works great as a standalone mobile app.
A companion app to the Music Practice Studio.
View Project →A chromatic tuner with adjustable reference pitch and multiple display modes. Works great as a standalone mobile app.

View Project →An audio recorder to record your music practice sessions with some tools to help review them. Works great as a standalone mobile app.

View Project →A local-first task manager that is mobile friendly. I can't find one that works the way I want, so I built it.
Experimenting further with local-first architecture - supports multiple users and transparently syncs with an online database back-end (when available). This provides persistence across browsers and platforms.
View Project →A local-first, end-to-end-encrypted note-taking app that's mobile friendly. It features flexible search (including regex), Markdown preview, and limitless versioning.
Going deeper into local-first architecture with CRDTs (specifically Automerge) and zero-knowledge E2EE: changes from multiple devices merge seamlessly, and since the server never sees anything but ciphertext, sync doesn't require trusting the backend with your data.
